The benefits of this is that BRC will now allow us to have ‘rolling’ memberships so it will not matter what part of the Club year you join your membership will last for a full 12 months!

Llantwit Major & District Riding Club is always keen to welcome old and new members of all ages, levels and abilities. In 2024 we are looking forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary and 24 years at our home at Tremains Farm, Llanmaes
With our own 60 x 40m All-Weather arena plus summer show field, our excellent range of equipment and regular training clinics, low-cost member shows, and discounted training and hire, it’s never been a better time to join!
Our Club offer:
Being a member of Llantwit Major & District Riding Club gives you the chance to share our excellent facilities at Tremains farm at favourable rates, reduced price training at our regular clinics with top trainers, and a chance to join in the world of British Riding Clubs by representing our club in team and individual competitions at various disciplines and levels!

- Junior Members in club events aged 4 to 16 as at 1st Jan (in official BRC competitions this is up to 18yrs)
- Senior Members at Club events over 16yrs and upwards! (in official BRC competitions this is over 18yrs)

LLANTWIT MAJOR & DISTRICT RIDING CLUB
BYE- LAWS & REGULATIONS
1. No person can become a member of the Llantwit Major & District Riding Club without first fully completing an application form.
2. Membership will not commence or be renewed until all amounts owing to the Club are paid.
3. All members attending a mounted event must wear suitable footwear and dress (shirt and tie). Protective Headwear’ must be worn at all times by anyone, whether or not a Competitor, riding anywhere at any BRC event. Harnesses must be correctly adjusted and fastened at all times. ‘Protective Headwear’ constitutes a hat which meets current standards as per the BHS Riding Club rule book. Suitable back protectors are recommended for use during jumping activities but should be worn when riding cross country.
4. The decision of judges in all competitions is final, and the decision of the committee in all cases of objection or dispute is also final.
5. Ages for all events will be taken as from 1st January that year (unless otherwise stated on event programme).
6. No Horse/Pony is to be left unattended at any time at any event, and must only be ridden within the specified areas (these will be marked out on the day of each event).
7. All members will before attending an event ensure that their Pony/Horse is sound and fit, tack to be in good condition and without fault.
8. Any member of the Committee has the power to prevent a member from taking part in any event if he/she suspects a fault in tack, dress or Horse/Pony is unfit to proceed. The member has the right of objection but if the Committee members ruling is supported by another Committee member, that ruling will be upheld.
9. All members will at all events have regard and consideration for other property and ensure that all waste paper, rubbish etc is deposited in bins provided or removed from the area to a suitable place, or taken back home for disposal.
10. Members will obey the instructions of Committee members or their agents and be polite at all times.
11. We advise all members that dogs are either to be left at home or in close control and on a lead at all times.
13. The gate at the entrance to the club field must be kept shut at all times.
14. All horses/ponies must be 4 years of age or over to take part in Club events.
15. Junior and Senior classes when specified shall be deemed as being split as follows:-
Junior = Riders 16 yrs and under riding ponies 14.2 and under.
Senior = Riders over 16yrs horses any height and/or juniors riding horses over 14.2hds.
16. The Committee may at any time terminate membership of any Club member or invoke a suspension at its discretion.
17 Neither the Club members, Committee members, nor any person acting on their behalf shall be held responsible for any accidents, injury, loss or damage sustained by members, members animals, members families, guests or visitors or any damage to the property of such persons howsoever caused and whether sustained in the course of Club activities or other activities on Club property or premises or as a result of the condition or use of Club property, premises or equipment or otherwise.
18. Members are advised to ensure that they have their own Insurance cover and are adequately covered, for any loss, accident, or injury howsoever caused, and indemnify themselves against 3rd party claims.
