Show Set-up – Saturday 11th May 10.30am

Just a note to those who have offered to help set up this Saturday morning.

Since the jumps were already out for the rain-soaked clear round evening which was to have been tonight, we won’t need anyone to help out on Saturday morning.

Thanks to everyone who offered – we can all have the morning off!

IMPORTANT – FARM X CHANGED

The Farm X tomorrow will now be a Jump X.

Unfortunately, a distinct lack of help compared with last year, and some rough ground further out in the country, means we will be running the event as a Jump X instead.

There’ll be an hour of Clear Round at £3 per round followed by two competition classes at 2’3″ – 2’6″ and 2’6″ – 2’9″ at £4 per class over a mix of showjumps, working hunter fences and cross-country fences.

£1 per rider First Aid contribution.

We will try to replace the Jump X later in the season with a Farm X, but because of the amount f work involved it’ll depend on whether we have enough volunteers to set up.

Farm X – Sunday 28th April

The Farm X is the first members’ ridden event of the year. Since we started to run this practice/schooling day we’ve been blessed with good weather so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

As usual there’ll be two course heights – 2’3″ and max 2’9″ – with a mix of mostly knock-down rustic jumps and some cross-country fences.

Oh – and there’s a river crossing or two 😀

You can go around the course singly or in pairs and there’s no time limit – the only thing to remember is to allow any faster horses coming up behind to pass you safely. You can go around more than once at any height.

Because the farm was flooded during the winter we’ve been struggling with parts of the ground so may need to alter the course from previous years.

Hopefully we’ll see you on Sunday!

Just a couple of thoughts in the meantime:

If you have any photos from last year you’d like us to post in the Gallery, please let us know. You can email them to Jonathan here
